Mask-making and performance workshops at Contact

from Contact Theatre:
A unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in assisting a series of mask making and performance workshops with young people in Manchester.

This community outreach project will work with a group of young teenagers who will be taken through the process of design, making and using a mask in performance. The masks will be used to explore both the young people’s personal narratives and collective issues.

You will be given support and guidance in working with young people. Travel expenses within Greater Manchester will be reimbursed and CRB check costs will be covered.

This project is one of 10 projects delivered by Future Fires in 2011. Future Fires is a programme established by Contact, Manchester to enable young people to design and deliver their own community arts project and is supported by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
